Im Jahr 2001 schrieb Micah Wright für den TV-Sender Nickelodeon das Konzept für eine Zeichentrickserie, die sich an Action-Animes orientieren sollte. Ein Konzept, dass zu dieser Zeit völlig neu war. Das Ergebnis war Constant Payne, das die Abenteuer eines Teenager-Mädchens und ihres Vaters in einem Steampunk-Setting erzählen sollte.

Mehr als der Pilot wurde aber leider nie produziert, denn am Ende des Piloten verunglückt das Luftschiff des Vaters in zwei Hochhäusern und die Mutter der Heldin wurde von Terroristen getötet. Mit den Ereignissen des 11. Septembers im Hinterkopf zog Nickelodeon die Serie zurück und verbannte sie in den Archiven. Der Pilot hat aber seinen Weg ins Netz gefunden.
